Project Type: Writing

Writing is cathartic and a pleasure to illustrate the page with the words that tumble out. I’ve moved closer to Haiku compositions, rhyming poetry and grand preparations for several novels. I feel I could gain a lot from exploring short stories in greater depth.

First we had to balance working hard at school and playing hard. Then we had to balance work and family. Throw in balancing ethical food choices with income. Balancing creativity with administration. Balancing social media with tangible interactions. Balancing mental health with emotional spending. Balancing on the yoga mat. Balancing the scales, the books, time asleep with time awake. Balancing time indoors with time outdoors. Balancing energy with rest. Balancing despair with gratitude. . This gratitude will always be a work in progress. I can easily tumble into despair because so much is a struggle, so I have to find ways to remember where my gratitude can flourish. Little seeds spread here and there, not of doubt but of joy. I'm grateful for this boy, his respect for me needing to be in this bed everyday, his ability to keep me involved in his young life, and always seeking me out to share a hug and a story. Sometimes I can't respond, the pain is too intense, the fatigue crushing me into the bed, my face, mouth, limbs all frozen. Still he gently hugs me, whispers he loves me, holds my hand so I know he's close. It breaks my heart that I'm so cut off from his life, but at the same time, he's nurturing his compassionate instincts. At least, that's how I internally balance what all this is happening for, so that he learns how to help and respect others, and to balance that with finding his own joy in life. . #Gratitude #Grateful #Balance #Family #JourneyToJoy #CreativeJourney #CreativeSoul #MEcfs #SpoonieLife #ChronicallyChallenged #ChronicIllness #MyalgicEncephalomyelitis #MentalHealth #EmotionalHealth #BalancingAct #ChronicPain #Love #MillionsMissing #MillionsMissingUK #Compassion #Parenting #Disabled #BlackandWhite
